The City of Lawrenceburg is promoting healthy living and inclusive play through the installation of a premier playground as part of their award- winning Parks & Recreation facilities. City officials will host the Arch Street Park Opening & Rededication Event on June 4th at 1:00 p.m. located at
251 Arch Street, Lawrenceburg, Ind. 47025.

Beginning in 2020, the Arch Street Park Playground Committee which consists of area residents and community members, set forth to review existing playground infrastructure conditions, address recreational concerns, and improve accessibility for outdoor play environments for people of all ages and abilities. Led by Mayor Kelly Mollaun, members included Sallee Johns, Joe Vogelgesang, Erin, Nicole & Taylor Ratliff, Grace Brown, A.J. Waltz, Connie Knue, Tina Zint, Bonnie Vise, Guinevere Emery & Mario Todd. Their goal was to create a playground design featuring safe, fun, and exceptional play experiences featured in the City of Lawrenceburg’s award-winning Parks. Mayor Mollaun shared that the “project took a lot of time, with great input from our playground committee, to finalize a design that could be utilized by different age groups for ultimate fun and healthy experiences.”

The Arch Street Park Inclusive Playground by Sinclair Recreation will feature many exciting amenities such as an ADA accessible Hybrid Structure, more swings, Shadow Play Tri Runner, RoxAll See Saw,
Merry Go Round, Infinity Bowl, and Synthetic Turf. The Arch Street Park Playground will also become a National Demonstration Site featuring the 7 Principles of Inclusive Playground Design to promote the power of Inclusive Play. The playground was made possible by a GameTime Playground Grant Award of $190,403 with the City of Lawrenceburg committing an additional $550,026 towards the Arch Street Park Inclusive Playground project.

Jeff Branham, sales associate with Sinclair Recreation, the exclusive GameTime distributor in Indiana and Michigan, worked with the steering committee over the past year to help make the project come to fruition.  “It was great to develop options for their park based on feedback from the community. We worked with people and kids of all ages and abilities to create the playground that is going to be perfect for this community and it’s been such a blessing to be a part of a project that is going to affect so many
people,” said Branham.

“On behalf of everyone at GameTime, congratulations on your new playground,” says President of Gametime Spencer Cheak. “Your commitment to inclusive play and outdoor recreation for people of all
ages and abilities is a model for communities around the country. Everyone involved in making this possible is a true community champion and we are honored to partner with the City of Lawrenceburg to make play possible for everyone.”

“Makes you want to be a kid again!” Construction Project Manager Mario Todd added.

The City of Lawrenceburg is a community dedicated to supporting exceptional recreational outlets and quality of place environments in Dearborn County, Indiana.
